Senegal will host the 12th edition of the International Exhibition for Construction Materials, Finishing and Infrastructure (SENCON) from January 28 to 30, 2027, bringing together international manufacturers, construction companies, investors and industry professionals at the Diamniadio Exhibition Centre near Dakar.
The event is expected to provide a major platform for business networking and commercial partnerships in West Africa's construction and infrastructure sectors, with a growing focus on renewable energy and sustainable building solutions.
Organisers describe SENCON as one of the region's leading trade exhibitions for construction materials and machinery. The 2027 edition will expand its scope by incorporating a dedicated renewable energy sector, bringing together technology developers, equipment suppliers and other stakeholders in the energy supply chain.
A regional business platform
The previous edition, held in 2026, attracted more than 250 exhibitors from 19 countries and approximately 12,500 professional visitors. Organisers also reported more than 450 business-to-business meetings, highlighting the exhibition's role in connecting suppliers with distributors, contractors, architects and potential investors.
For 2027, the organisers are targeting a similar international business environment, with opportunities for companies seeking to expand their presence in West African markets. The exhibition will cover construction materials, machinery, building equipment, finishing products and renewable energy technologies.
Construction and energy at the centre of the agenda
The addition of renewable energy to SENCON's exhibition programme reflects the growing importance of energy efficiency and alternative energy sources in the development of African infrastructure.
The new section will showcase renewable energy technologies and bring together developers and supply-chain companies. A conference featuring industry professionals is also planned to address sustainable energy solutions and the development of the sector.
Senegal's geographical position and its links with other West African economies make Dakar an important location for companies seeking to develop regional commercial networks. SENCON is therefore intended not only as an exhibition space but also as a meeting point for international businesses looking to identify distributors, investment opportunities and industrial partnerships across the region.
