Gaza: Israeli Strikes Continue Despite Ceasefire as Death Toll Exceeds 1,550

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas remains fragile as Israeli military operations continue across the Gaza Strip. According to Palestinian health authorities, an Israeli strike targeting a civilian vehicle in Gaza killed two people, adding to the toll of Palestinians killed since the truce took effect in October 2025.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began has exceeded 1,550, highlighting the persistent gap between the formal truce and conditions on the ground.

The humanitarian situation remains critical, with continued military operations and restrictions undermining civilian safety and further complicating efforts to address the population's basic needs.

Separately, the United Nations has reported an increase in cases of viral meningitis in the Gaza Strip. The spread of the disease has been linked to overcrowding and deteriorating sanitary conditions, compounding public health concerns in a territory where access to essential services remains severely strained.
